We're updating the available networks at The Standard to remove some points of confusion. One of the biggest of which is the "Setup" network, "The Standard (setup)".
What is the setup network?
The setup network was implemented to aid in completing the setup process if cellular signal was low or unavailable. The setup process involved logging into our registration portal and setting up a personalized network passkey that you would connect your devices with
What's the issue?
Many people either didn't receive the instruction letter that detailed the setup process of changing your passkey and connecting to the proper network, "The Standard", or didn't finish the process. This lead to devices staying on "The Standard (setup)" and seeing poor internet connection - which was true, since it wasn't meant to allow internet access. Some devices even hid error messages when setting up your own passkey, so it never got set, so you couldn't connect to "The Standard".
It was kind of a mess.
What's the change?
We're removing the setup network. Knowing that it would also cause issues with new move-ins setting up their passkey, we've removed that requirement from the equation as well.
Anyone with an existing custom passkey will continue to connect with that passkey - and you can still change it in your registration portal.
New move-ins will receive a PSK, or pre-shared key, that you can use to connect directly to "The Standard". No registration, no changing passkeys needed, just connect directly.
